Knife

I made this knife while working in a warehouse. The provided knives where too big to easily fit in a pocket and kept getting stolen. It was primarily used to cut through shrink wrap and cardboard.

Despite being made of aluminium it has stood up pretty well. The latch is a fair bit looser than it used to be. One day I plan to remake it using steel for the moving parts.

Goals

• Use readily available disposable blades.
• Pocket sized.
• Lock to hold blade in open position.

Material

• Aluminium plate (3mm).
• Bolts and nut.
• Straightened coil spring.
• Metal epoxy.

Tools

• Hacksaw.
• File.
• Tap.
• Cordless drill.
